Luxury Car Rental in Dubai with Family and Kids

Travelling around Dubai with children is easier in your own car: you leave when the kids are ready, carry everything you need and avoid waiting for taxis with a pushchair. This guide shows which luxury SUVs and sedans suit families of different sizes, how child seats work with our rentals, which rules apply to children in cars in the UAE, and what a family rental costs.

In short
  • For families, our seven-seat SUVs start at AED 599 per day for the Nissan Patrol, excluding 5% VAT, and five-seat SUVs start at AED 750 per day.
  • A child car seat is available upon request; tell us the age and number of children when you book.
  • Under UAE traffic regulations, children under four need a child seat, and children aged 10 or below or shorter than 145 cm may not sit in the front.

Which luxury car is best for a family in Dubai?

For families of five or more, a seven-seat SUV such as the Nissan Patrol, GMC Yukon Denali or Cadillac Escalade is the best choice. A family of four can travel comfortably in a five-seat SUV such as the Land Rover Defender or a Range Rover.

The table lists family-friendly cars from our fleet with seats and daily rates. All prices exclude 5% VAT and include free delivery in Dubai, 250 km per day and 24/7 customer assistance.

Our overview of 7-seater car rental in Dubai lists every seven-seat car we offer. Two-seat sports cars and four-seat convertibles are not suitable when you need child seats in the back.

Should you choose a 7-seater or a 5-seat SUV?

Choose a seven-seater when you are five or more people, or when you need the extra row for grandparents or friends. With two children and normal luggage, a five-seat SUV is usually enough.

The Nissan Patrol is the most affordable seven-seater in our fleet at AED 599 per day, with a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 and four-wheel drive. The GMC Yukon Denali and the Cadillac Escalade Sport both use a 6.2L V8 with 420 hp and offer more luxury inside. Our comparison of the Cadillac Escalade and GMC Yukon Denali explains the differences.

When all seven seats are in use, there is less room for suitcases behind the third row. If you arrive with a lot of luggage, tell us how many bags you have and we can suggest a fitting car.

For a family of four, the Land Rover Defender P400 at AED 750 per day and the Range Rover models give more comfort than a sedan and enough boot space for a pushchair. Our SUV range also includes more five-seat models to compare.

Can you get a child seat with the rental car?

Yes, a child car seat is available upon request. Ask for it when you book and give us the age and approximate weight of each child, so we can confirm what is available for your dates.

Request child seats together with the car, not on the day of delivery. If you need more than one seat, mention the number of seats and the age of each child.

Some parents prefer to bring their own seat from home. If you do, check that it fits the car and is installed correctly before you drive off. Whichever seat you use, the responsibility for fitting the child correctly lies with the driver.

What are the UAE rules for children in cars?

Under the executive regulations of the UAE Traffic Law, as communicated by Dubai Police and the RTA, children under four must travel in a child protection seat, and a child aged 10 or below or shorter than 145 cm may not sit in the front seat. The front-seat offence carries a fine of AED 400.

The same regulations require child seats in the back that suit the child's weight and height. Seat everyone in a way that meets these rules before you start the engine, and make sure every passenger wears a seat belt.

Traffic fines are paid by the renter, so a violation during the rental will be passed on to you. For other rules that matter to visitors, read our guide to Dubai traffic rules for tourists. The official source for the child seat rules is listed at the end of this guide.

  • Under four years: child protection seat required
  • 10 years or younger, or under 145 cm: not in the front seat
  • Child seats in the back should suit the child's weight and height
  • Front-seat offence: fine of AED 400

How does arrival at the airport work with children?

We can deliver the car to the airport free of charge, with the child seats you requested already in the car. Send us your flight details so we can plan the handover.

Arriving after a long flight with tired children is the moment when a waiting car helps most. See our page on airport car rental in Dubai for how the handover works.

Have the driver's documents ready: passport, a visa depending on the country, and a driving licence or International Driving Permit depending on where the licence was issued. UAE residents show an Emirates ID and a UAE driving licence. A security deposit of AED 3,000 is blocked on a card for the family SUVs listed above.

Can both parents drive the rental car?

Yes. A second parent can be registered as an additional driver if they meet the age and document requirements. A surcharge applies.

Sharing the driving helps on longer days, for example on a trip from Dubai to Abu Dhabi. Only registered drivers may drive the car, and every driver must be at least 21.

If one parent prefers not to drive in Dubai, the other can rent alone; the additional driver option is only needed if both will drive.

What do family day trips and costs look like?

A five-day rental of the Nissan Patrol costs 5 x AED 599 = AED 2,995, or AED 3,144.75 including 5% VAT, before fuel, Salik tolls and parking. Each day includes 250 km.

Popular family trips stay inside the UAE, such as the drive to Abu Dhabi or to the mountains around Hatta. Our guide to the best drives near Dubai gives ideas. All rentals are for use within the UAE only.

A week in the GMC Yukon Denali 2024 costs 7 x AED 800 = AED 5,600 excluding VAT at the daily rate. For a week or longer, ask for a quote, because weekly and monthly prices are not published and are given on request. The quote for your dates confirms the total, including the additional driver surcharge if you add one.
