Car Rental in Dubai at Eid, New Year and in Peak Season

Holidays are when many people want a special car in Dubai: a G-Wagon for Eid visits, a convertible for New Year's Eve or an SUV for family days in the cooler months. This guide explains how to plan a rental for these dates, what changes on the roads during big events, how parking and Salik work on busy days, and what a peak-season rental costs at our published rates.

In short
  • Around Eid, New Year's Eve and in the busy cooler months, the most popular cars are booked early, so reserve as soon as your dates are fixed.
  • We do not publish seasonal surcharges: the daily rates on our car pages apply, excluding 5% VAT, and your quote confirms the total.
  • On New Year's Eve, roads around the main celebration areas close from the afternoon, so plan your route and parking in advance.

When is peak season for car rental in Dubai?

Demand for rental cars rises around Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, the UAE National Day weekend, Christmas and New Year, and generally in the cooler months when many visitors come to Dubai.

The Eid holidays follow the Islamic lunar calendar, so their dates move each year and the exact holiday days are confirmed officially shortly before. If you plan around Eid, keep your dates a little flexible and book as soon as they are clear.

New Year's Eve is fixed, but it is one of the busiest nights of the year on Dubai's roads. Many residents and visitors want a car for the whole long weekend, which means the most requested models are often reserved well in advance.

How early should you book for Eid or New Year?

Book as soon as your dates are fixed, ideally several weeks ahead for New Year and as soon as the Eid holidays are announced. Popular models such as the G 63 and the Rolls-Royce range are requested most.

Send us your dates, the delivery place and two or three cars you would accept. That way we can offer an alternative if your first choice is already booked. You can start a request on our booking page.

Extensions are possible subject to availability. During holidays, an extension is harder to arrange at short notice, so if you might keep the car longer, book the longer period from the start.

  • Fix your dates and delivery address
  • Choose a first choice and one or two alternatives
  • Have every driver's documents ready
  • Ask for the quote and confirm the booking
  • Plan routes and parking for event days

Is a G-Wagon more expensive at Eid?

We do not publish holiday surcharges. The Mercedes-AMG G 63 is listed at AED 1,750 per day, excluding 5% VAT, and your quote for the holiday dates confirms the total.

A three-day Eid rental of the Mercedes-AMG G 63 costs 3 x AED 1,750 = AED 5,250, or AED 5,512.50 including 5% VAT, before fuel, Salik tolls and parking. The G 63 Night Package has the same daily rate. See all models on our G-Wagon rental page.

The table shows other cars that are popular during holidays, with the daily rates from our car pages. Weekly and monthly prices are not published and are given on request.

Can you rent a car in Al Quoz over Eid?

Yes. Our base is in Al Quoz, and we deliver free of charge anywhere in Dubai, also on holidays. Delivery outside Dubai carries a fee.

You do not need to come to Al Quoz to collect the car; we bring it to your home, hotel or the airport. Read more on our page for car rental in Al Quoz.

24/7 customer assistance is available throughout the holidays. If something happens on the road, you can reach us at any time.

What should you know about New Year's Eve traffic?

For the 2025 to 2026 celebrations, Dubai's Event Security Committee announced that road closures around event areas would begin at 4 pm and gradually expand until 11 pm. The closures included Al Asayel Street, Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, Burj Khalifa Street and parts of Sheikh Zayed Road.

The authorities publish the closure plan for each New Year shortly before the event, so check the official announcement for the current year. For the last celebration, about 20,000 parking spaces were announced in the Burj Khalifa area and around 8,000 at metro stations.

If your plan is to watch the fireworks in Downtown, it is often easier to park outside the closure zone or at a metro station and continue by public transport. Use the car for dinner before, or for the drive home once roads reopen.

Do not leave the car in a no-parking zone or on the roadside during closures. Parking and traffic fines are paid by the renter.

How do parking and Salik work on holidays?

Public parking rules can change on public holidays; for example, the RTA announced free public parking on 1 January 2026, except for multi-storey facilities. Salik tolls apply as usual, with variable pricing at AED 6 in peak periods and AED 4 off-peak.

The RTA announces the parking and public transport timings for each holiday, so check the announcement for your dates instead of assuming parking is free.

Salik introduced variable pricing in late January 2025. The exact peak hours and any rules for Sundays, holidays, events and Ramadan are published by Salik, so check them before you plan a route with several gates. Tolls are charged to the car and passed on to the renter. Our guide on Salik, parking and fines explains how this reaches you after the rental.

What should you keep in mind during Ramadan and Eid?

During Ramadan, working hours and traffic patterns change, so allow more time for journeys and drive patiently. At Eid, roads near malls, parks and family areas are often busy.

Plan longer trips outside the busiest times of day and keep to the speed limits; see our guide to Dubai traffic rules for tourists. Be considerate of people who are fasting.

Every rental includes 250 km per day. Holiday visits across the city add up, so keep an eye on the distance; extra kilometres cost between AED 10 and AED 25 per km depending on the car. All rentals are for use within the UAE only.
